How ALBA Helps

When the situation is complicated, it helps to see the whole picture.

Aging can bring questions that don't fit neatly into one category. Changes in one area can affect others, and even relatively simple needs can be surprisingly difficult to navigate when you don't know what options or resources exist.

ALBA helps you understand what is happening, what may be available, and what deserves attention now, without assuming the answer before understanding the situation.

Where ALBA can help

You don't need a crisis to benefit from guidance.

ALBA works with older adults and families across a wide range of circumstances, from everyday questions and planning ahead to significant change.

Everyday life is getting a little harder.

You may be managing well overall while finding that certain things take more effort than they used to. Transportation, technology, household tasks, getting to appointments, keeping up with responsibilities, or finding reliable help can become frustrating without meaning that everything needs to change. ALBA can help identify practical supports that fit the life you want to continue living.

You're concerned about someone you love.

Maybe a parent or other older adult is living independently and you're noticing changes in memory, judgment, safety, mobility, or their ability to manage day-to-day life. You may be seeing something they don't see, or aren't ready to acknowledge, and you're unsure what to do next.

Caregiving is becoming difficult to sustain.

A spouse, adult child, or other family member may be doing more and more. ALBA can help look at the broader situation, identify where support may be needed, and explore what could make things more sustainable.

Something has changed.

A hospitalization, diagnosis, fall, loss, change in function, or other event can make yesterday's plan no longer fit today's circumstances. ALBA helps sort through the questions that follow and identify what needs attention first.

You're deciding what comes next.

You may be weighing changes in support, living arrangements, daily routines, or other aspects of life as needs and priorities evolve. ALBA can help you understand the possibilities, consider what matters most, and think through the implications before deciding what comes next.

You just need help figuring something out.

Not every question about aging is a major transition. You may be looking for a service, trying to solve a practical problem, wondering what resources exist, or wanting help thinking through something before it becomes more complicated. ALBA can help you find a starting point without turning a manageable concern into a bigger undertaking than it needs to be.

What ALBA does

Guidance should help you understand what comes next.

Depending on your situation, ALBA can help you:

Understand your options

Make sense of what is available, what different choices may mean, and what questions still need answering.

Evaluate resources

Identify services, programs, providers, and other resources that may be relevant, and understand what to consider when evaluating them.

Navigate systems

Understand where to start, who does what, what questions to ask, and how different systems or services may connect.

Connect with services

Identify appropriate resources and understand how to approach the next step.

Coordinate next steps

Bring order to multiple priorities, conversations, and decisions so you can see what needs to happen now and what can wait.

Make informed decisions

Consider the broader picture, including practical realities, personal priorities, family circumstances, and the preferences and autonomy of the older adult.

Working with ALBA

Understanding comes first.

The amount of help you need may be very different from what someone else needs. ALBA offers several ways to engage, from a focused starting point to more sustained navigation when circumstances call for it.

Initial Navigation Consultation

$350

An in-depth pre-consultation intake allows ALBA to begin understanding your situation before we meet. Your completed intake is reviewed in advance of the consultation, allowing time to become familiar with your circumstances, identify areas that may warrant further exploration, and prepare thoughtfully for our time together.

In-depth pre-consultation intake and review 50-minute consultation Personalized Navigation Report

A focused starting point for understanding your situation, identifying priorities, exploring what may be relevant, and determining useful next steps.

Follow-up Consultation

$200

For existing clients with new questions, changing circumstances, or a need to revisit something previously discussed.

A focused consultation provides an opportunity to reassess what's happening and determine what may be useful from here.

Navigation Engagement

Scope-based

Some situations call for more sustained support than a consultation can provide.

A Navigation Engagement allows ALBA to remain involved through a defined period of transition, decision-making, or navigation, with the scope shaped by the circumstances and support needed.

Investment is determined based on the scope and complexity of the engagement.

A defined scope, rather than ongoing care management.

ALBA's Navigation Engagements provide focused support around concerns, questions, decisions, or periods of transition. ALBA is not a care management practice and does not provide ongoing clinical oversight or indefinite coordination of care. When a situation would be better served by ongoing care management or another professional service, ALBA can help identify that need and support connection to an appropriate resource.

Independent by design

Guidance without a financial stake in the answer.

ALBA has no financial relationships with providers, communities, or services and does not accept referral fees or compensation for directing clients toward particular options.

That independence allows the focus to remain on understanding your circumstances, evaluating what may be relevant, and helping you make informed decisions.

No referral fees.    No affiliations.    No financial relationships.

When you're ready

Start with what you know.

Tell us a little about what's happening, what you're wondering about, or what you could use help figuring out. That's enough to begin.
